Ross Perimeter Security understands what matters most when it comes to choosing and installing a vehicle barrier system. That’s why we focus on designing and manufacturing unique crash-tested security solutions that go beyond basic industry test specifications, and address important customer requirements to minimize overall costs, maximize durability and simplify installation.
With an experienced staff of engineers, technical specialists and trusted partners, we’re always working to design new and progressive anti-ram barrier products. And all of those products are manufactured in our own 250,000+ square feet of production space with a skilled workforce averaging more than 20 years of experience with the company.
The result: innovative, high-quality, heavy-duty security products that withstand high speed impacts and provide long-term reliability.
For over 50 years, Ross has been known for manufacturing and design excellence. As one of the few companies in the security industry that fabricates its own barriers, we offer first-rate quality and consistency. Our factories are well equipped with a broad range of manufacturing equipment, which allows us to handle the vast majority of fabrication processes in-house and provides us with real control over product quality and lead times.
Ross is ISO 9001:2008 certified. And as part of our pledge to quality assurance, we put every piece of equipment under extensive Factory Acceptance Testing prior to shipping. This testing process involves assembling, running and labeling all components including wiring harnesses, hydraulics and controls. This helps ensure simple and efficient installation in the field. We encourage all of our customers to attend this testing for training and final systems verification.
Ross specializes in bringing to market new crash-tested barriers aimed at overcoming the challenges typically associated with using these types of products. More specifically, we strive to develop barriers that address limitations of traditional designs and provide greater value—whether by lowering product costs, speeding up installation, increasing service life or overcoming restrictive site conditions. Innovations like the Post and Beam Anti-Ram Fence and Gate are perfect examples of forward thinking technologies that embody these values.
Our in-house engineers and R&D specialists bring a wealth of technical expertise to the development and production of high-quality, progressive products. As active members of industry standards committees like ASTM and UL, they are well versed in the latest product standards and specifications. Ross uses AutoDesk Inventor with three-dimensional solids modeling to ensure proper fit of all components, and Autodesk Revit is used to generate BIM models.
Because we design and manufacture our own perimeter security products, we have a very good understanding of how they’re designed to function. We’re always eager to share this knowledge and support you in the product-selection process by factoring in your project site conditions, security objectives, operational considerations and integration with third-party control systems. This is not a high-pressure buying experience. Rather, we’re equipment specialists focused on understanding your expectations and meeting technical requirements. As a result, you’ll find we’re very easy to work with.
Ross maintains close relationships with skilled contractors in many regions of the country who are experienced installers. If you prefer to handle the installation with your own crews, Ross personnel can support your efforts with on-site technical guidance during key stages of the installation. We can also provide technical training and supply materials to educate your security staff.
Ross Perimeter Security barriers are designed to be extremely robust and durable in order to provide long-term operation with minimal downtime. We specialize in heavy duty and crash tested systems—as opposed to engineer rated systems—and use only the highest grade electro-mechanical and hydraulic power components. Every Ross barrier is hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A123 as part of our standard finish to prevent corrosion.
When designing our products, Ross incorporates elements to make maintenance simple and fast—features like removable panels for easy access to hydraulic components and quick connect fittings that simplify the replacement of worn parts. Plus, Ross performs endurance tests on products to check for potential wear and maintenance issues. The resulting products have a long service life with minimal maintenance requirements.
